Not a huge fan of some of their volunteers attitude & "customer service." Pretty rude and when I came in with questions, responded as if I was bothering them. Wish my experience was different because the cause seems great.

My cat Penny Purrful does NOT like having her nails trimmed. Luna's has a wonderful groomer, Suzanne, who is experienced at handling cats and dogs. She sees walk-ins on Sundays from 12 to 4, so I take Penny to her. They are near where I live and we are in and out in no time. Great alternative to me wrestling with my cat. Plus the shelter gets a portion of the very reasonable fee, so everybody wins.

Best place to adopt a new fur baby from.

I adopted my dog Harry from Luna's House in 2011. The adoption process was very thorough as they want to make sure the dog and prospective owner are a good fit. I also board Harry there and my experiences have always been positive. The volunteers are well trained, the owners are personable and extremely dedicated to their cause and the volunteers are very conscious of Harry's feedings and dislike of being crated. For those who were dissatisfied with their initial contact with the organization, I really hope you give them another chance

I called to surrender baby guinea pigs. I initially left a message with all the details and my phone call was returned the next day, asking to call back at my convenience to answer a couple more questions. When I called back, I spoke to a woman who simply and politely asked me some additional questions about my pigs. She then asked why I haven't considered neutering my male pig. If you know anything about small pets, you would understand how dangerous it is to neuter them. I do, however understand the predicament I got myself into, getting both a male and a female. We were excited to have babies! But re-homing them was another story, so I called Luna's house. The surrender fee was not unlike most shelters, in that, I mean, the price wasn't crazy to bring them in. However, near the end of our conversation, I was spoken to in a very rude manner. I understand and respect that most "employees" here, are volunteers. I'd hope that each individual would be trained to treat customers, whether surrendering or adopting, with the respect and dignity they deserve as human beings. In no way, shape or form, do I think it's fair to be judged and treated this way, over the phone or in person. I have carefully considered my options and I would rather keep my babies, than to PAY to release them into your care. And not only that, but then to know that this rescue will preform neutering on a small animal, which could cause death. If you really need $30 that bad, I'd rather just give them cash and no animal for them to experiment on. I'm not here to prove that I am right, or correct or better. I'm just suggesting that these volunteers be aware that not everything will work out perfectly for everyone. Whether it be cat, dog, bird or small animal. If you treat people with respect, you will in return, get respect.. and probably better reviews and word of mouth.
